Berlin introduces traffic bans on diesel vehicles – very soon

Some parts of Berlin’s roads will soon be closed to diesel vehicles. This is another German city to introduce such restrictions.

As of July 1st, 15 sections of Berlin roads will be subject to a traffic ban on older diesel vehicles, according to the new air quality plan. The restriction will not apply only to vehicles meeting the EURO 6 emission standards. The relevant law is to be passed at the end of May.

But we already know which streets will be banned, namely: sections of Leipziger Straße, Reinhardstraße, Friedrichstraße, Spandauer Damm and Hermannstraße, among others. According to the German transport portal, some vehicles will not be subject to restrictions. According to the portal, the ban should not apply to residents and their guests, craftsmen, nursing services (the so-called Pflegedienst, i.e. organizations providing caring and nursing services in homes), people whose place of work is on the road with restrictions, and distribution transport.

We will keep you up to date on further details.
